Rosemary McAuliffe is running for re-election because she’s from this community and cares about our future.

Rosemary is recognized as a legislative champion of education. As a mother, grandmother, former school board member, and award-winning Legislator, she is making a powerful impact on our schools. She continues her fight for high standards, quality teachers, and improved funding.

As a small businesswoman, Senator McAuliffe understands that growing businesses and creating jobs is important for all of us. She supports a comprehensive approach that includes low taxes, more opportunities for college and training, better roads, affordable health care, and targeted incentives to bring high wage jobs to our area.

Rosemary is working hard to improve our transportation system. Performance audits, better planning, and other cost-saving measures are making a difference. This year, she won critical funding to improve access to UW-Bothell campus to relieve congestion.

Senator McAuliffe is a staunch supporter of the Patients’ Bill of Rights and continues working for common sense reforms that make insurance more accessible and prescription drugs more affordable.

Rosemary has worked hard with members of both parties to provide effective and trustworthy representation in the Senate. Working together, we truly can make a difference.

Jason Bontrager has the energy, experience, and leadership we need.

Jason was born and raised in Washington. He built his company from humble beginnings, by working long hours and meeting difficult challenges. He confronts 1st District issues with that same vigor, and believes we deserve the same dedication in Olympia.

Jason has been visiting our neighborhoods to listen to concerns and share his vision. With your vote, he will bring better fiscal management and improved business climate to Washington.

Jason believes undue regulation costs jobs. Economic opportunity is a product of citizens, not government. With resources directed properly, government can provide for its citizens then get out of the way. Too much bureaucracy is harmful. When allowed to reach their potential, our workers, teachers, and civil servants can do amazing things.

We can improve our quality of life. We can improve our state economy by creating a better business climate. We can improve education by channeling more resources to our children’s classrooms and less to educational bureaucracy. We can improve transportation by funding freeways. We can do these things, but it requires dedication, work and a vision for a better future. With your vote, we can move toward that future.

As your legislator, I’ve worked hard to strengthen our local economy, create family wage jobs and make health care more accessible and affordable.

I was a leader in the effort to develop the Boeing 7E7 here, and to encourage the development of biotech firms in our community.

I’ve also been a strong supporter of our public schools – working to improve teacher salaries and lower class sizes.

Working together, we’ll continue to make progress.

It has been a pleasure and an honor to serve this community as a firefighter, mayor, coach, and currently as a city councilman and state trooper. Now I would like to take this experience and background to serve as your next State Representative.

Are you as tired of paying exorbitant property taxes as I am? Remember voting for the lottery with the promise it would fund public education so our property taxes would not increase? What happened to the lottery money? Why is it when people want money it’s called greed and when the government wants money it’s called need? I am running as a Libertarian because the only people I’m going to owe anything to are the people I represent. Vote for me and I’ll work hard to lower property taxes. As a Marriage and Family Counselor, Joshua serves on many boards, including Protect-A-Child-Today, International Deaf Education Association, King County Mental Health Advisory Board and 522 Citizens Advisory Board.
